After 3 terms and 9 weeks, Manuka have finally won a Handal the Jandal challenge this year. How did they do it? By working together as a team and having a good strategy. We are very proud, happy and relieved!
Good luck to Jasmin who is competing in the 10 year girl's high jump at the Canterbury Athletics tomorrow at the Ashburton Domain. She is Tinwald's only student competing at the event this year. Go Jasmin!
We've been so happy to see Riley back at school after his big operation. He brought along his x-ray to show the metal pins in his legs. If he travels by plane, he'll have to take a letter to explain why he sets the metal detector off! Plans are to take out the pins in a year. Meanwhile, he's been having wheelchair races with Jayden in Room 5.
It is auction week again! What prizes would you like to see this time? Leave a comment below and you may just find yourself bidding for it!
Teachers are thinking about next year already! We did a PMI on this year's stationery to help them out. These are our thoughts...
We love our iPads and are learning how to use all sorts of cool apps.
One of the many privileges in Manuka is taking part in our class auctions. During the term we receive credit for following the key competencies. Then we use this credit to bid for auction items as rewards. Auctions are held twice a term and are lots of fun!
Take a look at some of us enjoying our prize.
Congratulations to Ben, Georgia, Chloe, Aleesha, Amber and Victoria who represented Manuka in the Arrowsmith section of the Tinwald School speech semifinals. The competition was judged by the Taylor syndicate teachers. Manuka won three of the six spots allocated to Arrowsmith in the finals. Good luck to Aleesha, Chloe and Victoria who will speak again this Thursday evening in the finals!
We used our thinking hats to reflect on this year's winter tournament. Have a look at what we thought.
